‘Celebration of Life’ is inspired by the patterns in a sugar gum tree beside the Torrens River in Henley Beach, next to where the police horses used to graze (and there is a blue horse to be found in the painting, in a nod to the famous 1911 painting by the German painter Franz Marc).

It is a gorgeous and celebratory, energy-filled painting filled with birds and animals and some subtly introduced nudes.
